About RavenQuill

paper-17.jpg

I'm William, people call me Billy, and I've been drawing since I could hold a crayon — I just never stopped.

Medieval fantasy has always been my favorite world to create in, though a good dose of sci-fi (Aliens, Predator, anything with that same sense of dread and grit) sneaks in too. That love of fantasy really took root in middle school, sitting around the table with friends playing Dungeons & Dragons. I was always more captivated by the art in the books than almost anything else — so much so that I started sketching our sessions as we played, turning our characters and moments at the table into drawings in real time.

For a long time, I wanted to become a professional artist working directly for Dungeons & Dragons. Somewhere along the way, that dream shifted into something I like even more: creating original art and content for third-party projects and for the individual players and DMs who love this game as much as I do.

I went to school for graphic design, knowing early on that "just an artist" wasn't going to be enough to build a real career on. That background gave me a second set of tools — and today, RavenQuill is where traditional illustration and digital design come together with intention, not by accident.

Every character, creature, and stat block you find here started the same way: pencil on paper, built with the same care I once gave those D&D sessions I sketched as a kid — now turned into something you can bring to your own table.
